Hospital & Home Visitation Ministry
“Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well.” – James 5:14-15
Mission Statement: The mission of the Hospital & Home Visitation Ministry is to extend the love, comfort, and compassion of Jesus Christ to those who are sick, shut-in, hospitalized, or recovering at home. We seek to provide spiritual encouragement, prayer, fellowship, and practical support to uplift and strengthen individuals and families during challenging times.
Vision Statement: Our vision is to be a caring, compassionate presence that brings hope and healing to those facing illness or isolation. We aim to reflect Christ’s love by offering personal connection, spiritual support, and ongoing care to the sick and homebound within our church family and community.
Our Objectives
- Visitation: Offer personal visits to those in hospitals, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, and private homes.
- Provide Spiritual Encouragement: Offer prayer, scripture, and words of hope to individuals who are hospitalized or homebound.
- Offer Compassionate Presence: Bring companionship and a listening ear to those who may feel isolated or lonely.
- Support Families: Provide emotional and spiritual support to the families of those who are ill or recovering.
- Meet Practical Needs: Assist with basic needs (as appropriate) such as delivering meals, running errands, or offering transportation.
- Follow Up & Build Relationships: Maintain ongoing communication and support after the initial visit to ensure continued care.
Activities & Programs
Hospital Visitation Rounds: Schedule visits to hospitals, offering prayer and companionship to members admitted for medical treatment.
Homebound Outreach Visits: Visits to homes of members who are elderly, ill, or recovering from surgery, offering fellowship and support.
Prayer and Encouragement Calls: Phone calls to offer prayer, check in, and provide updates on church activities for those who cannot attend.
Communion Services at Home/Hospital: Provide Holy Communion to members upon request and with church leadership’s approval.
Care Packages & Meal Deliveries: Deliver meals, cards, flowers, or care baskets to those recovering or going through extended illness.
Bereavement & Grief Support Referrals: Connect families with bereavement ministry services or grief counseling after the loss of a loved one.
